Hello everyone,
Am I understanding this correctly?
This is footage shot on a vx1000 using a Century 16X9 anamorphic lens. The resulting video is a squeezed 4x3.
In premiere 1.5鈥 set the project to dv ntsc widescreen 16x9.聽 I then select interpret footage and then under pixel aspect ratio select conform to d/dv ntsc widescreen 16x9 (1.2).聽 Correct?
The resulting video renders out nicely, correctly filling premiere's monitor and a HDTV monitor with what appears to be the correct aspect ratio.聽 Can someone tell me if this is the correct workflow?
Thanks,
Paul
It sound correct and obviously it shows correct also.
The camera is set to 4:3 and the lens makes in anamophic (stretched)
If shooting in widescreen without the lens it would give the same anamorphic footage
With the lens you get far more better quality footage then shooting in camera widescreen mode.
VX1000 anamorphic video and premiere...With the lens you get far more better quality footage then shooting in camera widescreen mode.
Thanks Folks,
And yes...the image is much better with the lens than the in-camera 16x9 on my dsr 200.聽 As you may know the vx1000 does not have a 16x9 capability.
Paul
Well actually the vx1000 does has 16:9 capability but what makes the quality poor is having a 4:3 CCD instead of a 16:9 CCD.
Hi Ann,
Actually the early versions of the vx1000 (except for the Japanese version) had this capability locked.聽 Several years ago there was a servicing device (if you could get your hands one) that could unlock this feature as well as 16 bit audio.聽 If memory serves me, it wasn't until vx1000-D that this capability was made viable in U.S vx1000s.
Paul
Oh, i never knew that. So thats why the Century
