I bought Adobe's Production Premium CS4 recently and as I'm a student I qualify for the education discount. All I had to do was to log in to Adobe's 'Customer Support Portal' and submit my proof of Student ID. Since then I've been experiencing a whole world of trouble (and pain). I've been waiting for Adobe to respond (twice, since the first time I submitted my ID was invalid?!). I've tried calling Adobe Customer service and waited for over an hour on hold for someone to speak to and even then they couldn't help (one of those call centers in India).
As a student I am all too aware of the illegitimate options of obtaining software through copied and borrowed software. I would have thought purchasing the software, particularly with the intention to use the software for educational purposes, would have been much easier. The option for obtaining a ''borrowed'' copy is possible but I am not happy about this eventuality but it seems adobe leaves students with no option.
I don't know what the answer is and where to find the solution other than to just keep waiting until Adobe finally responds to my request. I'm sure there's more action I can take to get heard.
